The Mizare team is honoured to have been selected by the Tla'amin Nation business development arm, Sliammon Development Corporation, to manage and re-position The Historic Lund Hotel and Marina. On April 5, 2016 the Tla'amin Nation was established as a Treaty Nation and The Lund Hotel became a cornerstone of the economic development for The Nation. We re-opened and re-positioned the existing hotel, marina and grocery store during the summer of 2016 while a re-development consultation and planning processes was, as requested by the community, completed. The Sliammon Board decided to postpone the proposed major re-development and we agreed to not renew our one year contract. We wish the Tla'amin Nation all the very best as they find their way to a brighter future.
We secured a contract to re-develop and manage the Port Hardy Inn for the Gwa’sala-’Nakwaxda’xw Nations. This project involved an extensive renovation and re-positioning of the hotel. The immediate need was to prepare the hotel for the summer 2015 season with new beds and other 'guest touching' improvements. We had a very successful season and began the preparation for the renovations. In the interim the Nation acquired a second hotel in Port Hardy and we prepared it for opening in the early part of 2016. The over-arching design and development timeline for the Port Hardy Inn was extremely tight and we exited the contract in early 2016. As of October 2016 the hotel has not, to our knowledge, re-opened.
